Truckers need vacations, perhaps more so than the average worker. In fact, they may need more time away from the job than most to stay alert and healthy.
If you ask any truck driver how much vacation time he or she takes over the course of a year, I’ll bet they’ll tell you ‘little or none’.
The 34 hour reset is not a vacation nor restful time off, unless it is spent at home. Babysitting company equipment when on the road is neither restful nor relaxing.
